Surface verification confirms a field meets safety, performance and contract specifications — whether you need handover verification after installation, scheduled performance checks, post‑incident testing, or proof‑of‑compliance for an RFP. Bush Sports Turf pairs third‑party accredited testing protocols (impact attenuation / Gmax & HIC, infill and permeability tests) with our in‑house construction verification tools (millimeter GPS / RTS mapping for elevations and grade conformity). We provide comprehensible test reports, remediation prescriptions, and documented SOPs that help owners, boards and insurers make fast, risk‑based decisions.

Which verifications do we perform?

Safety & performance testing (Gmax & HIC)

Measure shock attenuation and head‑injury risk using ASTM test methods and field drop‑devices. Deliverable: timestamped Gmax/HIC report with point‑by‑point data, average values, and remediation recommendations.

Infill depth & material testing

Measure infill depth, composition (crumb rubber/TPE/EPDM, coated sand), and, when required, coordinate lab analysis for chemical/particle composition. Deliverable: infill depth map and sample analysis summary.

Permeability / drainage & surface temperature checks

Permeability testing per ASTM references and spot surface temperature measures to inform playability and heat‑mitigation options. Deliverable: permeability rates, recommended drainage interventions, and temperature log snapshots. 

Construction / surface verification (elevation & grade)

Millimeter GPS/robotic total station mapping to verify as‑built elevations, surface slopes, crown and drainage lines to contract tolerances (2 mm accuracy options available). Typical test cadence & when to test

Recommended at handover (new field), after major repairs or infill changes, after extreme weather events, and then on a routine basis — commonly every 1–2 years for synthetic turf unless your contract or insurer specifies otherwise. Frequent testing is advised for high‑use / community rental fields.

Midwest & climate considerations

Freeze/thaw, snow removal and seasonal compaction affect both surface hardness and drainage; we advise scheduling verification outside freeze‑thaw window and after seasons of heavy use.
